Richmond Fireman Steals $1 Million. Reports Say It May Be UpTo $8 Million

Fireman Apparently Stole $1 million With Fake Invoices, Could be $8 Million

This is an ongoing investigation by the City Inspector General. The IG has found that one or several city firemen have found a way to steal nearly $1 million in taxpayer money. These firemen made up fake invoices for fire supplies ,dozens or hundreds of times, and with no oversight, the city paid them nearly $1 million in taxpayer funds. It is outright theft, and by some reports may amount to as much as $8 million. No one has been charged or prosecuted. Why? And why are Richmond Police apparently not involved in investigating a crime of this magnitude?

  1. Breaking news. A contact a city hall says the acting Inspector General is at risk of being fired over this investigation, for looking too deeply, exactly as happened to his predecessor. And now the total theft is reportedly over $10 million. State Police and FBI are involved.
