👉🏼 Richmond’s “Code Refresh” Forced Rezoning Causes The Following Harm, And You Have No Vote!
👉 The City Committee with 14 developers who wrote “Code Refresh” may stand to profit personally. Normally, this would be illegal. What’s this about? $15 Billion in revenue.
👉🏼 Richmond’s “Code Refresh” changes existing neighborhoods, accelerating gentrification/density, causing displacement.
👉 Richmond dumps raw sewage into the James River during many storms, violating DEQ regulations. “Code Refresh” adds 100,000 residents and millions of gallons of sewage, but we lack the infrastructure to handle all of it.
👉🏼 “Code Refresh” will cut down 70-80% of our tree canopy in 8 residential zoning districts. We can’t allow this to happen.
👉 Taxes will go WAY UP! Your land value will increase substantially due to the added development potential, even if you do nothing.
👉🏼 Virginia law specifically states that local zoning must conform to the master plan. “Code Refresh” absolutely violates our ‘Richmond 300’ master plan in its failure to protect neighborhoods.
